The George Institute for Global Health is an internationally recognised not-for-profit health research organisation, undertaking high-impact research across a broad landscape. Affiliated with several leading universities in Australia, Asia and the UK, the Institute is a global leader in research and policy on the prevention and treatment of common chronic and critical conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease, stroke, injuries etc.
The George Institute has offices in India, Australia, China and the UK at which about 450 staff are employed. Research is currently conducted at around 400 collaborating centres in approximately 50 countries worldwide.
Position Overview and Key Accountabilities
The George Institute aims to reshape the healthcare system by introducing digital solutions to support new models of primary healthcare. Such solutions are designed to make healthcare more accessible and affordable, and also empower patients by providing them patient-centric interactive decision support systems. It also leverages technology and creates solutions aimed at empowering people to make healthier food choices. This team in India shall be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of the Institute’s initiatives, being directly run and part of the Food Policy Team in Australia.
The Food Policy UI – UX Designer Apps & Web role supports the management and implementation of all aspects of the FoodSwitch program. The role works with the internal team and business stakeholders. The role drives, designs, creates and finds solutions to new challenges and is the business expert in everything User Interfacing or with the User Experience. Working closely with the Application Developer, the Business Analyst and the Database Manager this person is key to delivering App solutions for mobile devices. This person will have a flair for writing communications, designing brochures and making the ordinary into something special.
