The George Institute for Global Health is an internationally recognised not-for-profit health research organisation, undertaking high-impact research across a broad landscape. Affiliated with several leading universities in Australia, Asia and the UK, the Institute is a global leader in research and policy on the prevention and treatment of common chronic and critical conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease, stroke, injuries etc.
The George Institute has offices in India, Australia, China and the UK at which about 450 staff are employed. Research is currently conducted at around 400 collaborating centres in approximately 50 countries worldwide.
Position Description
The intern will assist in mapping the initiatives and organizations using innovative information and technology tools (such as mHealth) for health delivery and health promotion in India. In addition, the intern will also require to identify these innovative health interventions and compile the summarized details in form of a report. In exchange, the intern will have the opportunity to work with research and programme management professionals and receive mentorship on research and programme implementation. The intern engaged in this project will also receive a rich understanding of the latest information and technological initiatives being carried out for health delivery in India.
Experience and Skill Requirements
1. Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (final year students can also apply)
2. Experience in market or academic research, with proficiency in web related searches
3. Detail-oriented with excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills
4. Experience and interest in the use of innovative information and technology tools for health promotion.
5. Excellent command of M.S. Office suite.
Compensation: The intern shall receive a fixed monthly stipend.
