
Research Assistant
Context and Role
The Research Assistant will support the institute in planning, conducting, analyzing and reporting epidemiological studies, randomized controlled trials, and evidence synthesis studies of cardiovascular diseases. These studies will have a primary focus on improving prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular conditions and will be conducted in India and/or other low- and middle-income countries. |
This role reports to: Program Head/Senior Research Fellow. |
Duties and Key Responsibilities
•Assist lead researcher(s) with protocol development, preparing submissions to ethics committee and HMSC, CTRI registration, database development, organizing study meetings, producing agendas and minutes for study-related meetings, responding to protocol and data collection enquiries, maintaining study documentation, assisting in the preparation of budgetary and administrative documents. •Conducting interviews/focus group discussions with patients, providers and other stakeholders relevant to the objectives of the study. •Conducting hospital-based or community-based surveys. •Contributing to quantitative and qualitative data analysis using applications like SAS, Stata, N-Vivo etc. •Contributing to design, conduct and reporting evidence synthesis studies: e.g. systematic reviews, meta-analysis etc. •Contributing to writing manuscripts for publication. •Assisting in writing funding grant applications. •Participate in education and training activities of the team and organization.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience
•Qualifications: Masters qualification in health sciences (e.g. Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing etc.). •Understanding of confidentiality and privacy laws and guidelines relevant to clinical and public health research. •Ability and willingness to travel (when appropriate and as needed). •Applicants interested in expanding their knowledge/skillset and with ambition to acquire higher qualifications (such as PhD) will be preferred. •Excellent skills in MS Office applications including Excel and Word. •Excellent interpersonal skills with high level of proficiency in English. •Proficiency in multiple Indian languages will be preferred. |
