
Senior Research Fellow ( Burns Project)
Context: This is an exciting opportunity for a person keen on developing a career in the field of injury research or health systems and policy research. The role offers a prospect of working on a range of multi- centre projects in collaboration with some of the leading injury researchers, clinicians and academic partners. You will work on the Burns – health system project which aims to assess factors affecting burns care in secondary and tertiary health care facilities and co-designing a primary health care service-delivery model for improving care and rehabilitation of burn survivors.

Role and Responsibilities
• Conduct quantitative and/ or qualitative research under limited supervision • Preparation of Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) and Governance submissions • Contribute towards building future projects and grant applications • Effectively produce and maintain project data. • Regularly update study tracking tools and systems • Adhere to all study protocols and participate in protocol training sessions as required. • Competent in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and the Internet • Adhere to safety policies and study SOPs, as outlined by The George Institute. • Other tasks as required by the investigative team. |
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Essential • MBBS Degree with at least two years’ experience in public health from a recognized university • Minimum two years of work experience in related field. • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. • Demonstrated ability in conducting quantitative / qualitative study designs. • Competent in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and the Internet • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams, managing relationships with external partners and engaging stakeholders, including those in government • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well flexibly, i.e. independently and engaging with research teams Desirable |
