Dr Jason Wu

Jason Wu is a Senior Research Fellow at the Food Policy group at The George Institute, and a Conjoint Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine, University of New South Wales. He has a PhD in Biomedical Science from the University of Western Australia, and a MSc in Biostatistics form the University of Sydney. Jason completed his post-doctoral training at the Department of Epidemiology, Harvard School of Public Health.
Jason’s research focus on discovering nutritional risk factors for cardiometabolic diseases including coronary heart disease, stroke, atrial fibrillation, and diabetes. He has particular interest in dietary fats and salt, and utilizing novel biomarkers for determining nutritional status and assessing vascular disease risk.
Another key area of investigation aims to provide quantitative, robust evaluation of nutrient quality of the food supply in Australia, and assessing the effectiveness of policies to improve the healthfulness of the food environment and population-wide dietary intake.
