Purnima is a public health specialist and holds an experience of over twelve years in the sector. She has extensive experience in working with policymakers, various international and national partners, multi-state geographies, and environment collaborative projects to strengthen the implementation of various public health programs.

Dr Rao holds a Master’s in hospital administration with a bachelor’s in Dentistry and has worked with various development organizations like PHFI and UNICEF. She is certified in scientific writing from Stanford University, United Kingdom.  She has liaisoned with the various state governments regarding project implementation activities and conducted wide-ranging studies with study centres and locations across India.

At The George Institute India, she is a GCP trainer in charge of the program and manages the clinical trials operations of PACE, Testing on. She is working on quality monitoring clinical drug trials on chronic kidney disease and COVID-19. Now she is also part of the team to develop modules for online clinical trial courses. Her role aligns with capturing and understanding the requirements for the stressors and barriers to accessing psychosocial well-being that are crucial in the deployment and sustainability of the finalised intervention(s). Earlier she worked on NCD projects on urban health and gestational diabetes within The Institute.
